Windmill Soho Club
The Windmill Soho is an historical immersive theatre located in the hearth of Soho. This is where most of the theatres and burlesque venues have their roots and not surprising we find here our favourite spot. In this area there are also other nightclubs such as Cirque Le Soir. The Windmill London opened back in 1968 and it conserves the historical layout of open classic plant theatre. In fact, even if there has been a change in ownership and some refurbishment, very little has changed since then.
The Windmill Soho is not just a theatre. In fact, it combines the shows with the dinner, from here the adjective “immersive”. A world of theatrical dining in Soho, where there is no edge to the stage. The Windmill brings a new definition to immersive theatre. This is ‘dinner and a show’ for the here-and-now. Lately from 2022 the venue operates as a nightclub from 11pm. This is something new, exciting and never seen before.
Opened since 1968, the old Windmill London had to close temporarily in 2018. When it reopened in July 2021 it was called “The Windmill Soho”. The venue has a space for 350 people. It is arranged with a central circular stage on the ground floor which is surrounded by the eating area. An upper bar oversees the stage area. This serves unique cocktails and also delicious meals, courtesy of its executive Michelin-starred Chef Andrew Mcleish. That is what we called an “immersive experience”: eating 5-stars food, drinking posh wines or spirits and enjoying stunning never-seen-before performances. The bar and the unique cocktail selection is rhe result of the work of the acclaimed mixologist Andy Mil.
The Windmill Soho is therefore set over three levels. On the basement we have the newly restored establishment, The Theatre and the main diner. Upstairs there is The Palais De Luxe, a big upper bar, which is also accompanied by The Royal Box, a spectacular private room. I guess everybody knows the “outside”, The Windmill’s famous neon sign that continues to soar above the street.

Following the nightclubs general dress code rules in London we therefore expect to see applied the same guidelines in here. For the ladies we suggest to wear something elegant and to put on heels or nice boots. Although trainers are not allowed at most of the London nightclubs, here we have a bit of tolerance for the ladies. Talking about the gents dress code, instead, we have no tolerance about the dress code. Gents has to dress up smart and wear elegant shoes.
